MDmc:Membership Data management consultant

• Target Client: Chambers of Commerce (with small staff that doesn't include IT)
• Is your membership data entered into some sort of database software?
• Are you struggling with how to get your membership data out (exported) so you can publish a directory?
• Do you need a report analyzing the data to produce reports?
• Do you want to send a personalized letter or email to all of the members either informing them of upcoming events/networking opportunities or to verify their membership data?

The skill set required to write database queries and create custom reports is beyond what an administrative assistant might be able to do. And yet you don't want to have a full time person on staff with those technical skills. That's where I come in. Not on an emergency situation fix a problem basis but in a planned, and time managed here's the technical tasks we need to get done on regular basis.

DB Management

• Target Client: Small to Medium Size Local Business that use Access to manage their data and have people to enter the data (maybe accounts payable) and have custom report or data field needs beyond what was originally provided in the Forms Interface. After meeting with you and discussing your data management, would make an evaluation regarding how we can work together.
• Has your administrative assistant or Access User taken classes to help them learn more about the tool they are using?
• Are they struggling with finding the time to use what they learned and essentially lost the knowledge due to lack of use?
• Have the reports become obsolete and you end up manually configuring them or exporting the data to get what you need?
• Are you using Excel Spreadsheets as your database?

Answering YES to any or all of these questions tells me that you could benefit from having me come in on a regularly scheduled basis to work with your db users to fine tune the processes and streamline the efforts. The value of coming in on a regular basis provides an opportunity for me to get to know your business well enough that I can better understand what technology options would be most suitable for your situation.

Web Content Management

Website content should be dynamic, current and informative. Depending on your business and website purpose, frequent content changes give people a reason to come back to your website. Managing the web content is probably not something you are likely to need done full time and the skills required are beyond that of an existing full time employee. If you have access to your website content but not the knowledge to keep it up to date, I can help. You provide the graphics and the text and I'll update the pages as needed. How well this will work depends on your website, the technology platform used and whether or not you own the content. Websites files that end in html or php or asp are likely candidates. Entire websites built with Flash may look great and be fun to play with, but they are typically not candidates for easy content updates without the original source. Email me the URL to your website and I will evaluate the platform and code. Then we can discuss the types of changes you are interested and provide an estimate around how much the updates will cost. Costs can be incurred by the hour or with a flat rate package custom to fit your needs.

The hosting cost and the registration of the domain name are required to have a web site but not included in the web development costs.
